Tig Barra Tig Barra Area: Leidseplein 
Being a genuine Irish bar, (owner Ruan is from Dublin) you can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome as soon as you walk into Tig Barra. The bar hosts regular jam sessions with local and visiting musicians, all major sports are shown on satellite TV and if you're feeling a bit peckish, Tig Barra has an extensive menu, with everything from snacks to full meals and the kitchen is open from eleven in the morning all the way through till ten at night, every day. 
Joselito Joselito Area: Nieuwendijk 
Tasty Tapas, friendly staff and quite possibly the best terrace in Amsterdam for catching the last rays of sun in the evening make Joselito a very popular little restaurant. 
London Bridge London Bridge Area: Nieuwendijk 
English pub with a Big Screen and a couple of TV's showing Sky Sports and Sport1 channels, so it's possible to watch any Premiership or Champions league match. Good selection of food and snacks, terrace and they're open from 9am, so it's a great place to get a Full English Breakfast before a hard day of watching cricket on TV.  
Old Highlander The Old Highlander Area: Nieuwendijk 
The Old Highlander, the only Scottish bar in town, is one of Amsterdam's hidden gems. The bar staff give everybody a warm welcome, no matter what your nationality. If there's no Scottish football on TV, they'll gladly show any other sport you like. Good food available too, like fish & chips and pies.
Closed on Mondays.  
Mother India Mother India Area: Old West 
At last, there's somewhere decent to eat in Oud West since Mother India arrived on the scene. Good, honest Indian food at prices up to 20% cheaper and quality up to 20% better than many other Indian restaurants around Amsterdam. If you're having a party, Mother India offer set menu's at discount prices and can arrange entertainment, like Bhangra dancers or a Bollywood theme.  
Hotel Old Quarter Hotel Old Quarter Area: Red Light District 
Friendly hotel bar on Amsterdam's famous Warmoesstraat with a live Jazz session every Monday, regularly featuring some of the best Jazz musicians in Holland. Starting in mid-October, there will be Karaoke every Friday and Saturday evening. Restaurant open 10:00 - 23:00, English breakfast served 'til 16:00. Big screen TV for the big sporting events.

The Globe Hotel The Globe Area: Red Light District 
The Globe has one of the biggest bars in the Red Light District, and it's 24 hours a day! There's a restaurant that serves English or American breakfast and also lunch or dinner.

Kamasutra Kamasutra Area: Red Light District 
Several things spring to mind upon entering the Kamasutra Indian restaurant: Is the food as hot & spicy as the art? Food for thought. Go in hungry, come out horny! Finger-licking food in lip-licking surroundings. I could go on & on...
In short, Kamasutra is the perfect place for a good meal with friendly service in the heart of the Red Light District.

Molly Malones Molly Malone's Area: Red Light District 
Molly Malone’s is a great Irish pub close to Centraal Station that looks like a cavern. Stone's Café Stone's Cafe Area: Red Light District 
The Stone's Café is the original all dancing, sports, smoking, English/Dutch bar that many have tried to copy over the years, but they are the original and proud of it. With a strong emphasis on the international appeal of good music and beer, served by friendly staff in cosy surroundings, you will feel at home no matter where you are from. All major sporting events are shown live on multiple flat screens and they also serve cooked breakfasts, have a pool table, gorgeous bar staff and a terrace which is at the centre of all the action in the red-light district.
